Arsenal Banter brings you latest update on Arsenal news from top media sites like Daily Mail, Metro, The Express, The Independent, The Telegraph, SkySports and so on.
Arsenal have been given a quadruple boost after Per Mertesacker, Danny Welbeck, Aaron Ramsey and Chuba Akpom all returned to first-team training.
Mertesacker has been sidelined with a knee injury since pre-season but should be back in action next month, while Welbeck, who has been out since May, is also on course to return next month.
Ramsey, meanwhile, has been out for a considerably shorter period with a hamstring injury but could be in contention to be included in the squad for the Boxing Day fixture at home to West Bromwich Albion.
Talented striker Akpom hasn’t played since September owing to a back injury but the England youth international could join Mertesacker and Welbeck in returning next month.
This news means that Arsenal’s injury problems are easing considerably, although Santi Cazorla is still expected to be out until February or March with an Achilles injury, while Yaya Sanogo is still out.
Shkodran Mustafi, who has averaged eight defensive actions per game in the Premier League this season, should return from his hamstring injury early in the New Year along with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who has a similar problem.
Mathieu Debuchy, who is also out with a hamstring injury, could return to action at some point in January.
