Arsenal and Chelsea have been handed a massive boost in the race of signing Wolfsburg’s Ricardo Rodriguez after Paris Saint-Germain direct of football Patrick Kluivert agreed a move for the Swiss international left-back.
The Swiss forward, who has widely been regarded as one of the most promising full-backs in Europe, is now set to leave the German side in search of a bigger club.
The Premier League duo have been alerted to 24-year-old’s ambitions by his agent, as have PSG. But, according to L’Equipe, the French champions will not fight for Rodriguez because Kluivert has other targets in mind.
The Dutchman was persuaded to look into the prospect of signing Rodriguez by PSG boss Unai Emery, who is a big fan of the left-back. However, having done so, Kluivert has decided the club should look elsewhere – leaving Arsenal and Chelsea to scrap it out for the defender.
