WEST HAM have agreed a deal to sell Dimitri Payet to Marseille. The Hammers this afternoon announced they have agreed a £25m fee for the disgraced star.

A tweet read: “West Ham United can confirm that a £25m fee has today been agreed for the transfer of Dimitri Payet to Olympique de Marseille #COYI.”

The 29-year-old is in France now and is travelling to Marseille for a medical.

Payet has already agreed a four-and-a-half year deal with the French giants, who sold him to West Ham for £10.7m in 2015. Marseille are set to unveil him tomorrow.

Payet will take a pay-cut from his £120,000-a-week wages to join his old club. He had gone on strike at West Ham after claiming he was homesick.

The France international was a big hit in his first season with the London club, scoring 12 times in 38 appearances.

He also agreed a lucrative new contract until 2021 before starring for his country as they reached the final of Euro 2016 on home soil.

But things turned sour earlier this month when Payet angered his boss Bilic by requesting a transfer and declining to be picked against Palace.

Payet’s transfer is set to trigger a raft of moves further down the pyramid.

West Ham are now likely to bring in Brentford star Scott Hogan to bolster their strike-force.

A fee in the region of £13m is expected to be agreed.

That will free up Brentford to invest that money in Norwich midfielder Sergi Canos, who spent last year on loan at the Championship club.
