Arsenal to make Ben Gibson their first business of the summer

Arsene Wenger looks to be in the market for another defender according to reports from Evening Standard

The Arsenal Boss added Rob Holding and Shkodran Mustafi to the squad last summer with the hope of building up his defensive team before this season.

However, the Gunners defense have been disastrous as they conceded ten goals to Bayern Munich in the Champions League round of 16.

The British Media are now reporting that Arsenal are keen on signing Middlesborough defender Ben Gibson as their first intake in the summer transfer window.

The 24-year old has been an integral part of The Boro’s new found success as they look to be coming out of relegation.

Despite Loanee Calum Chambers putting up good plays for Arsenal, Wenger seems keen on securing the signature of his Boro teammate.

Gibson’s versatility is his main attraction as a defender. The $34.9 million (£30 million) rated player can be deployed to both centre-back and left-back.

The Middlesbrough star could land a place in the Gunners back-line if Kieran Gibbs and Nacho Monreal decides to move out of the Emirates.
