Arsenal are set to be overthrown in their race to sign Jean Michael Seri as the midfielder has agreed to a deal with Roma.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger was seen in Nice at the beginning of the summer, reportedly to make an offer for the Ivory Coast star, but it appears his going there was in vain.
Indeed, French radio station RMC claims that Roma held talks with the 25-year-old last week, although the Italian giants have yet to conclude on a fee for the player.
Nice have revealed that they will only go along with Seri’s release clause of €40m (£35m), while Roma will be expected to make an improved offer of €35million (£30.6m) which is set to be rejected, as per report in Metro.
Roma, however, are certain they will be able to sign Seri, who scored seven goals and provided nine assists as Nice landed a qualification for the Champions League, this week.
