Medicals Passed! Arsenal Few Hours From Announcing Deal For Russian Player

Arsenal Banter brings you latest update on Arsenal news from top media sites like Daily Mail, Metro, The Express, The Independent, The Telegraph, SkySports and so on.

Chelsea and Arsenal are both interested in signing CSKA Moscow midfielder Aleksandr Golovin this summer but the Gunners seem to be showing more intent in their pursuit of the player.

The Metro report that Arsene Wenger sent an agent to go and watch Golovin in action earlier this summer during the Confederations Cup and report back to the Arsenal manager.

It’s understood that Chelsea have made enquiries into signing the £20m-rated star this summer, but Arsenal are definitely leading the race for his signature.

Golovin scored three goals and laid on four assists for CSKA in the league last season and it believed to be joining Arsenal, say theMirror.

Chelsea are in the advanced stages of transfers for a number of players, including Tiemoue Bakayoko, Romelu Lukaku and Alex Sandro but are still yet to significantly add to their first-team squad this summer with only former Manchester City goalkeeper Willy Caballero the only signing thus far.
