Arsenal Banter brings you latest update on Arsenal news from top media sites like Daily Mail, Metro, The Express, The Independent, The Telegraph, SkySports and so on.
There has been much talks recently about the advantage of Wojcieh Szczesny returning to the Emirates this summer, as it seemed sure that David Ospina would be leaving for Fenerbahce after he publicly made known his wish to move to Turkey.
The Turkish club must have thought it was a shoe-in and offered a measly amount for a World Class keeper which was rejected out of hand by Arsenal. The deal has been swept under the carpet since then so we can assume the deal has fallen through and Ospina will be expected to remain with the Gunners.
But it seems Juventus are trying to buy Szczesny as a future replacement for Gigi Buffon, who is expected to play for another season with the Italian Champions before hanging his boot, while the Pole is eased into his role.
According to Italian publication Calciomercarto, Juve have taken on board Arsenal dismissal of their opening (derisory) bid and Wenger is ready to negotiate on a € 15 deal. Although Jueventus are unwilling to pay quite that much, they are confident Arsenal would sell to them after selling their current backup keeper, Neto, to Valencia for a reported € 9 million.
They wouldn’t have cash in on him if they had not being confident of securing Szczesny’s signature, so a deal could be announced soon.
