Arsenal are ready to release Mathieu Debuchy from the club on a free transfer this summer, according to French paper l’Equipe.
The outcast defender has barely made any appearance for the club since Hector Bellerin became the first choice right-back. Now it seems Arsenal are set to cut their losses.
Debuchy transferred to Arsenal when Bacary Sagna moved to Man City but has never been able to establish himself in the position. Partly due to some unfortunate injuries and partly because of the emergence of Bellerin.
It is thought that he would likely be returning to France if he does leave the Emirates.
The club require no price for him despite him still being contracted at the Emirates.
He was excluded out of the squad for Arsenal’s pre-season tour of Australia and it seems like only a matter of time before his fairly unsuccessful stint as a Gunner comes to an end.
