Arsenal Banter brings you latest update on Arsenal news from top media sites like Daily Mail, Metro, The Express, The Independent, The Telegraph, SkySports and so on.
Fluminese manager Abel Braga has confirmed that Wellington Silva has moved out of the club due to the activation of Arsenal’s buy back clause
The situation around Silva is without a doubt a strange one, but everything appears to be going as previously reported.
Arsenal are set to activate a buyback clause that will allow them to bring back Silva for around £4m before selling him again to Bordeaux.
Fluminese manager Abel Braga has confirmed that the clause does exist, and that the move is genuine.
“We know that the window is always cruel. If you have a clause, there is nothing to do. I learned of the clause because he came for free in 2016. Fluminese can’t do anything and will be losing another great player.”
Silva was a player with much potential when he moved to Arsenal, but struggled to get himself accustomed to the European lifestyle at such a young age.
Due to not having a work permit, Silva never appeared in a game for Arsenal, and was eventually let go in 2016.
Silva has rediscovered his form in Brazil and has bagged seven goals this year for Fluminese.
Such form has made him a transfer target of Ligue 1 side Bordeaux. Everything is agreed between the player and the club.
The unusual thing is that the deal will be between Bordeaux and Arsenal, instead of between Fluminese and Bordeaux.
Silva will not need to return to the Emirates first but will head straight to France.
Perhaps Arsenal are planning on inserting another buy-back clause in this deal should he astound in France?
You never can tell……
