AS Monaco are prepared to transact business with Arsenal for Thomas Lemar, provided they are willing to break their transfer record again this summer.
Lemar, 21, has been identified as a priority target for Wenger in this transfer window following an outstanding campaign with Monaco, where he found the net 14 times and provided same number of assists across all competitions.
As per The Star, Monaco have attached a price tag of £55m to Lemar, and the Gunners’ unwillingness to pay such amount for the player could see him continue playing at the Stade Louis II beyond the summer.
Arsene Wenger’s side were initially hoping they could sign the player for just £25m but the Principality club have taken advantage of the increased interest in the player and hiked their asking price.
Wenger has said that his side would remain active in the transfer market, but a deal for Lemar could depend on the exits of a couple of fringe players.
