Arsenal Banter brings you latest update on Arsenal news from top media sites like Daily Mail, Metro, The Express, The Independent, The Telegraph, SkySports and so on.
The record signing of Alexandre Lacazette has left the Arsenal fans anticipating the coming season, and it will as well give manager Arsene Wenger a difficult time deciding on the team selection heading into the new season.
Indeed, the Frenchman’s move to the Emirates has left Olivier Giroud’s future at the club in serious doubt, with the likes of Danny Wlebeck, Theo Walcott and Alexis Sanchez also competing for the central striking position.
With that in mind, last season’s purchase Lucas Perez has been heavily linked with an exit from the club. Former club Deportivo La Coruna and Newcastle United have both been touted as a possible destination for the 28-year-old, though reports from Spain have shed more light to the matter.
According to La Voz de Galicia, the aforementioned La Liga side are desperate to sign the player so much so that they are willing to withdraw interest in other players so as to meet the Gunners’ reported demands. They claim Branquiazuis believe the chances of a deal coming through is very slim as the valuations are so far apart.
Perez is reportedly in turmoil over this and, while many think he was not given a fair treatment by Arsene Wenger, believe he should be sold soon.
Perez is clearly a talented player, though surely cannot remain at Arsenal with the recent emergence of Lacazette. The Spanish forward needs to leave immediately to salvage his career and perhaps a move to another Premier League club could help him save his career.
