Arsenal Banter brings you latest update on Arsenal news from top media sites like Daily Mail, Metro, The Express, The Independent, The Telegraph, SkySports and so on.
According to the Metro, Manchester City wonderkid Jadon Sancho has refused to show up to training and travelled back to London as he tries to force through a move to either Arsenal or Tottenham this summer.
Sancho’s future has been in doubts after he was excluded from the City squad for their pre-season tour of the United States last month despite several youngster being taken along on the trip.
The 17-year-old was unimpressed by the exclusion and the Metro claim has refused to put pen to paper on a newly offered £30,000-a-week contract from City as he doesn’t see himself being given any first team opportunity under Pep Guardiola any time soon.
The newspaper cites the as saying that Sancho has now decided not to be a part of City training this week in order to take a trip down to London as he looks to try and force through a move to either Arsenal or Tottenham.
A number of top clubs have been mentioned to have an interest in the England international but the newspaper claim he wants to move back to North London where he was bred having come through Watford’s youth system.
The report states that Sancho has already requested for permission to leave the Etihad and Arsenal are confident a deal agreed as they are willing to offer the same £30,000-a-week City offered the youngster and his close friend Reiss Nelson is already at the club.
The teenager has entered into the final year on his scholarship contract but according to Metro, any club that wants to buy him will have to compensate City with a fee of £4m.
Sancho is one of the players of his age in Britain and was honored as the Player of the Tournament after finding the net seven times to help England reach final at this summer’s Under-17 European Championships so it would be something of a bargain if Arsene Wenger managed to sign him.
