£325,000-a-week Agreed – Sanchez Completes Shocking Move To Man City

Arsenal Banter brings you latest update on Arsenal news from top media sites like Daily Mail, Metro, The Express, The Independent, The Telegraph, SkySports and so on.

Man City are reportedly preparing a whopping £400,000-a-week deal to lure Alexis Sanchez away from Arsenal before the transfer window slams shut.

The 28-year-old’s future at the Emirates is hanging in doubts as he has entered into the final year of his current contract and yet to put pen to paper for the Gunners, he has been heavily linked with an exit this summer.

Arsene Wenger has adamantly insisted that the Chilean is not for sale this summer and the club is willing to risk him leaving on a free transfer next summer.

According to The Sun, City boss Pep Guardiola is ready to seriously test that resolve as the club is set to offer Sanchez a contract worth £400,000-a-week, making him the highest earner in the Premier League. The deal will consist of a basic weekly wage of £325,000-a-week, along with £75k-a-week in image rights.

It was added that Guardiola and City are plotting a £50m bid for the Chile international before next weekend, and so Arsenal are set to come under real pressure to retain their talismanic forward who found the net 30 times and provided a further 19 assists last season across all competitions.

Arsenal fans will be worried at this point as aside from the fact that they don’t want to lose their best player, losing him at this stage so late in the window would be disastrous as they have little time to sign a replacement.

With that in mind, it’s difficult to see them selling now, and for all the money reportedly being offered by City, Guardiola may well have to wait till next summer before he can reunite with his former Barcelona ace at the Etihad.
