Breaking: £60m Deal Agreed As Sanchez Pass City Medicals Today

Arsenal Banter brings you latest update on Arsenal news from top media sites like Daily Mail, Metro, The Express, The Independent, The Telegraph, SkySports and so on.

Arsenal have approved Manchester City’s £60m bid for Alexis Sanchez, according to latest reports from the Mirror.

Negotiations between the two clubs commenced earlier this week and while Arsenal wanted another player thrown into the deal, City were only willing to offer just cash. If this latest report is anything to go by, it seems City got their wish.

The deal will be worth an initial £55m plus £5m in add-ons. The completion of the deal could be dependent on Arsenal getting in a replacement before the end on the transfer window. While interest in Paris Saint-Germain’s Julian Draxler has seemingly boiled down, the Gunners could be reigniting their interest in Monaco’s Thomas Lemar.

After weeks and weeks of the clubs going at each other through the press, this much debated transfer saga could soon be coming to an end. Arsenal were adamant all through the summer that Alexis is not for sale, and especially not to a rival club. However, that stance seemingly softened after last week’s humiliating experience at Anfield.

Arsenal have already raked in £40m from the sale of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. With Alexis set to be sold too, there’s now no reason why Arsenal can’t sign more players.
