Arsenal Chief Scout, Sven Mislintat has reportedly convinced Arsene Wenger that Bayer Leverkusen keeper, Bernd Leno, is the best option to replace Petr Cech this summer.
The Premier League giants have been linked with a number of keepers ahead of the summer window when they are expected to buy one.
According to reports, Mislintat wants Leno and has convinced Wenger he’s the man to replace Cech. The Germany international would cost between £25m and £30m which is certainly a lot cheaper than many of the other options being mentioned.
The Gunners was heavily linkied the 26-year-old goalkeeper last summer, as he was given a price tag of £22 million.
Leno is under contract with the German side until 2020.
He has previously said he will only leave Germany to be a number one. “If I go abroad, then not as number 1 contender, but only as clear number 1,” he said.
