Welcome back? Arsenal Legend SET to RETURN for Unai Emery team

Arsenal Banter brings you latest update on Arsenal news from top media sites like Daily Mail, Metro, The Express, The Independent, The Telegraph, SkySports and so on.

Everton are considering a move for former Arsenal and Manchester City star Samir Nasri.

The two-time Premier League winner is able to train with clubs again from next month when his drugs ban expires.

It is understood that Everton manager Marco Silva has discussed the possibility of bringing the former French international back to England with his staff.

Nasri, 31, is a free agent after leaving Turkish club Antalyaspor in January and keen to return to the league where he enjoyed his greatest success.

The forward is serving a ban after receiving an intravenous treatment at an LA clinic in December 2016 when he was playing for Sevilla on loan from City.

The treatment, taken while on holiday, was for hydration but was found to contain micronutrient components that were on the World Anti-Doping Agency banned list.

Nasri was initially banned for six months but that was subsequently increased to 18 months. He played in Turkey prior to the ban being extended. Nasri spent three years at Arsenal between 2008 and 2011 but enjoyed most success at City where he won the league twice and also the League Cup.

Everton have made a decent start to the season under their new coach Silva and went into the international break on the back of a win at Leicester.

But the Merseyside club are in need of an extra creative player to back up the likes of the Brazilian Richarlison and Icelandic international Gylfi Sigurdsson.

Everton have the Turkish international Cenk Tosun as one of their strikers but the 27-year-old has struggled to settle in England and Besiktas are very hopeful of securing him back on loan in January. Everton paid Besiktas £27m for the Turkish international last January.
