BBC: Unai Emery officially found the BEST replacement for Mustafi

Arsenal Banter brings you latest update on Arsenal news from top media sites like Daily Mail, Metro, The Express, The Independent, The Telegraph, SkySports and so on.

Arsenal have turned a corner under Unai Emery following a slow start, entering the international break enjoying a run of nine consecutive victories across all competitions.

The Gunners have been consistent in front of goal, scoring at least twice in 10 of their 11 matches this season, but their defence continues to be of concern after just two clean sheets in their opening eight league matches.

Emery moved to sign Sokratis Papastathopoulos in the summer from Borussia Dortmund and the Greece international has seen become a regular fixture of the first-team, partnering Shkodran Mustafi at the back amidst the continued absence of Laurent Koscielny.

It seems that further changes could be on the cards though as it is suggested Arsenal have their sights on Manchester United outcast Eric Bailly, who earns £75,000-a-week according to Spotrac, which could prove to be a huge blow for Mustafi’s future at the club.

The Germany international has largely been a dreadful signing and has struggled to prove himself at the Emirates Stadium and, if Bailly is signed, may not only find himself out of the side but could also be deemed to be surplus to requirements.
