Arsenal lost for the fifth time in nine Premier League matches this season as Wolverhampton Wanderers came away from the Emirates with a 2-1 win on Sunday night.
The game was marred by a nasty-looking head collision between David Luiz and Raul Jiminez. The Wolves striker was rushed to hospital, whilst our centre-back saw out the first half with a bloody bandage around his head and looked concussed.
Wolves scored the opening goal shortly before the half hour mark when Leander Dendocker’s header came back off the bar to fall kindly to Neto, who duly finished from six yards out.
We weren’t behind for long though as Willian’s cross from a short corner picked out fellow Brazilian Gabriel to produce a powerful, uncontested header into the top corner three minutes later.
Our poor defending was made to pay shortly before half-time when Neto was given freedom to run towards our box before seeing his deflected effort parried by the legs of Bernd Leno. Daniel Podence was the quickest to react, beating Gabriel to the ball, and firing low into the net.
Buakayo Saka, Reiss Nelson and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang all missed opportunities to equalise in the second half as we have now taken just four points from our last six matches and end the day down in 13th spot.
