Arsenal could be about to lose one of their midfielders this winter permanently, rather than what may have actually been considered to be a rather temporary measure.
Mohamed Elneny would be expected to team up with the Egypt national team in January as the nation would be competing in the African Cup of Nations competition; a competition that some who visit Spelsajter.online looking for the best odds may feel have the best chance of success in the competition.
However, it seems that reports that have started to emerge have him departing North London for good in the winter transfer window.
According to a report that has been provided by Fanatik (via Sport Witness), the 29-year-old is thought to have attracted the interest of Galatasaray and it is understood that there have been ‘significant developments’ in regards to obtaining his signature. Additionally, it has also been claimed that the Turkish giants are also making progress in a move for former Tottenham man, Gedson Fernandes, who is currently at Benefica.
The report has claimed that Galatasaray have already reached an agreement with Elneny about a return to Turkey – with the midfielder having enjoyed a short stint in the Super Lig with a loan period at Besiktas.
However, one of the sticking points that they will need to overcome and try and navigate is the fact that they are yet to find an agreement with Arsenal. Indeed, the pursuit for his transfer could come down to being like a game of blackjack and seeing who decides to bust first.
It has been claimed that the Turkish giants have already made moves to try and convince the Gunners to allow the Egyptian midfielder to leave, and there is said to be an increase in confidence about a move happening in the near future.
It is understood that Arsenal have already decided to ‘release’ their player – and with his current deal at the Emirates Stadium currently expiring at the end of the season – it would seem that the club are prepared to lose him six months earlier.
However, a lot can change in football and whether the 29-year-old becomes a crucial part of Mikel Arteta’s plans over the coming months remains to be seen.
With Granit Xhaka currently injured, Elneny could make a telling impact as the Gunners look to climb the Premier League table ahead of the winter transfer window, which could then see any ‘agreement’ that is in place become rather difficult to complete.
