The 3-1 home win over Aston Villa on October 22 continued Arsenal’s good run. Where will they be come the end of November though? A place in the top four cannot be counted out, so get ready for a vitally important set of fixtures in the weeks ahead.
Beating Villa took Arsenal’s points total to 14 from nine games. That’s impressive considering the disastrous start that was made by the Gunners. All the points earned this season have come in the past six Premier League games. That’s form which has them among the best in the league.
Midweek saw victory over Leeds United, taking the Gunners into the quarter finals of the EFL Cup. with the home EFL Cup tie against Leeds. Winning that and heading into the quarter finals looks very much on the cards. The month ends with a trip to Leicester City in the Premier League. Not the easiest of games but at least a point can be earned. City aren’t that great at the back and the Gunners can make life difficult for them.
November is going to be a key month for Arsenal. There are only three Premier League games being played but a good points total can keep their momentum going. November 7th sees them host Watford and that looks like being an interesting game indeed.
The Gunners have won three and drawn one of their last four home Premier League games. Watford won’t be a pushover if new manager Claudio Ranieri can get them playing as they did at Everton on October 23. The last three Arsenal home league games against Watford have all been won and a good start to November looks likely.
However, as much as we love the Gunners, the same can’t be said of the next game. On November 20th it’s Liverpool away and the last five away league visits have all been lost with 18 goals conceded. Arsenal may well not win this game, but a closer result would show that they are making progress.

Newcastle United are in town on November 27th. United may have lots of cash and have in the past spent millions of dollars on Miguel Almiron from MLS side Atlanta United. However, they can’t spend any cash until the January transfer window. Hopefully, that will also see the possible new recruits from Real Madrid heading to the Emirates.
Arsenal last lost a home league game to Newcastle 11 years ago. A win this season will be ten in a row and United haven’t scored in their last five visits. Newcastle will have a new coach in charge but United have a terrible defence and Arsenal can make the most of that.
Looking ahead therefore, the Gunners should still be in contention for a return to European competition. December will test the strength of the squad, with seven league games to be played. The Gunners are back in form though and an awkward 2021 looks like having a good ending.
