Arsenal had a rough period in the January transfer window. They were expecting new signings that could have strengthened their squad and gave them a chance to finish in the top four of the league. This window saw one of their top signings move away on a free transfer in the club’s history. Arsenal in recent years have seen their players leave, and in return, they have not made profits from them. They have already been eliminated from two major domestic tournaments in the FA and Carabao Cup. They made it to the semis of the Carabao Cup but were eventually eliminated by Liverpool.
This gives them an excellent chance to focus in the Premier League and finish in the top 4. They are now in the sixth position with 36 points. Arsenal fans were disappointed as they could not compete in any European competitions due to finishing eighth in the last season. This was the first time in 26 years they did not qualify for any European tournament. Arsenal should pull up their socks in the second half of the season and book a European spot.

ARSENAL’s RECENT FORM
Arsenal has played five games since the start of 2022. Unfortunately, they didn’t win any. Arsenal was handed a disheartening loss by the league leaders Man City as they scored the winner in injury time. They then visited Nottingham Forest for their third round of the FA Cup; they were also defeated there. Moving on to the other tournament, the Carabao Cup, facing Liverpool in the semi-finals in the first leg, they were reduced to ten men when Xhaka was sent off for a dangerous challenge on Jota. The game ended as a draw with a second leg to be played at the Emirates.
One week later, Liverpool visited them for the second leg. Arsenal was defeated 2-0 with both the goals coming from Jota in each half. In the 90th minute, Partey was shown the red card. Arsenal then welcomed the 20th placed Burnley for the league’s match. After attempting 20 shots on goal from which only five were on target, the game ended 0-0. Arsenal completed the game with 76% ball possession.
